As previously noted, the Garage Doors (roller shutters) will sit <em>behind<\/em> the brickwork openings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.marshflattsfarm.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/IMG_5225-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6640\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.marshflattsfarm.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/IMG_5225-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.marshflattsfarm.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/IMG_5225-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.marshflattsfarm.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/IMG_5225-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.marshflattsfarm.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/IMG_5225-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.marshflattsfarm.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/IMG_5225-2048x1536.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/www.marshflattsfarm.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/IMG_5225-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Fresh concrete fill between the garage floor slab and the Aco threshold drain<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Courtyard, more progress with making all the connections required around and to the West of the rainwater tank:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The blue &#8216;pipe&#8217; in the photo below is a duct that will hold pipes and cables for the rainwater tank, bringing those to the control unit inside the &#8216;stable&#8217;\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>One flexible &#8216;pressure&#8217; pipe for rainwater under pressure from the submersible in-tank pump<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One mains supply cable for the pump<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One flexible pipe to carry mains top-water into the tank in the event of the level falling below a threshold<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One mains cable for the water level switch, mounted on the pump, to control the solenoid valve for the mains top-up &#8211; switching it on when the water level in the tank is too low then off again when it has risen (slightly)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The short pale grey &#8216;pipe&#8217; is a duct which will be replaced with a much longer one and will contain data cables connecting the House to the Outbuildings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There need to be so many brown drain pipes &#8211; at different levels &#8211; to separate:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The fresh rainwater from the downpipe at the far left, heading for the inlet to the rainwater tank<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The ground-level and land-drain drainage which needs to &#8216;bypass&#8217; the rainwater tank (connected at the &#8216;covered&#8217; inspection chamber nearest the camera)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The overflow from the rainwater tank, which needs a dedicated connection to a non-return valve (accessible via the &#8216;open&#8217; inspection chamber)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The 32mm incoming mains and harvested-rainwater pipes still need to be installed, between the two ducts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fortunately, downstream of the non-return valve, all the drainage pipework can be brought together in a single 160mm pipe to exit the Courtyard, so from there on things get much simpler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.marshflattsfarm.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/IMG_5222-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6642\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.marshflattsfarm.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/IMG_5222-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.marshflattsfarm.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/IMG_5222-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.marshflattsfarm.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/IMG_5222-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.marshflattsfarm.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/IMG_5222-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.marshflattsfarm.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/IMG_5222-2048x1536.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/www.marshflattsfarm.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/IMG_5222-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Maze of pipes and ducts to the West of the rainwater tank<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, completion of the loft insulation over the Workshop and Utility Room, in readiness for the ceiling being skimmed with plaster in the coming days.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Filling the gap between the Garage floor slab and the four threshold drains with concrete (which should dry to better-match the colour of the floor slab).
