Welcome

Welcome to my Self Build Diary.

OK, so it’s not much of a diary yet, but there’s quite a journey to come so there will be more content later – I promise!

I’m something of a WordPress novice and right now this site is just using all the default settings, so there’s a fair bit to learn about that too and no doubt quite a few changes before I get the hang of it.

  2. This is quite a remarkable log of your self build. I stumbled on it quite accidentally by searching for UniFi Protect information, and I have been quite addicted to reading it this evening. I am rather in love with the process you have taken of procuring a plot, funding the build, and incorporating all of your desires into action. Furthermore, the thorough documentation of this process over the years with relatively minimal audience to motivate you is impressive. Surely this will become a serious stable of a reference for my own future projects. I would quite seriously like to make your acquaintance!

    • Hi Kevin. Thanks for the positive feedback. Mostly this has been for my own benefit, as a record of the build progress (which is why there are relatively few postings these days – not much is changing) so it’s a bonus that it’s interesting and helpful for other people.
It does sometimes surprise me what I get most questions about – the Biorock waste water treatment plant, for example – which goes to show that people are’t always interested in the things you think they will be!
It’s also quite fun when this site turns up in my own Google search for something vaguely related, which I guess is how people like yourself stumble on it.
      David
