A little more progress on the roof tiling, but mostly some more fiddly (and much less obvious) work on the mortar fill on the gable verges and on the lead flashing where the roof butts up against the Garage wall. Work did start on the ridge tile installation but that highlighted the ventilated dry ridge kits that had been ordered were not the ones listed in the specification, so the correct ones now need to be sourced before the ridge tiles can be installed.
Also the completion of the in-roof solar PV panel installation, which started yesterday – a total of 24 460 Wp panels in a 12 x 2 configuration, for a maximum of 11 kWp of generation capacity. The panels needed to be installed now, before the roof tiling could be completed, and before the scaffolding gets taken down. The inverter and batteries will be installed much later, once there’s power and network connectivity available for their commissioning.

The solar panel array is intentionally positioned off-centre on the roof to reduce the tendency for it to be shaded by the house in late afternoon. There will still be some shading, so the 24 panels have been wired as 3 groups of 8 (left, middle, right) feeding 3 separate MPPT inputs on the inverter.
