Week 2, Day 2:

• Installation of the shuttering (wooden formwork) within the old cellar, ready to hold the foundation concrete while it sets – see second photo below
• Completing the rest of the digging for the foundations, including adding the extra-wide areas for where the steel posts will connect to the concrete foundations and need extra support

Week 2, Day 1:

• Good weather which is forecast to continue for a week or more – cool overnight but lots of sunshine in the daytime
• Site visit from the Architect at 08:00, likely to be a weekly event
• More digging, getting more of the foundations down to the correct level
• I decided where to locate the two Ground Source Heat Pump pipe trenches and marked out the line of the first one ready for digging
