Ridiculously hot weather today, peaking at 33 C in the afternoon, making for difficult working conditions. With only a small team on site, progress was concentrated on the walling at the East end of the Garage block – plus some staging of materials ready for further progress later in the week.
There are ‘valleys’ where the east-west roof over the Utility room (on the right of the photo) meets the north-south roof over the Workshop (across the back of the photo), where the height of the roof trusses needs to reduce and additional support is required for the valley tiles.
Further progress on the west-facing gable wall on the end of the Garage block, shown in the photo below. The first-floor doorway is intentionally off-centre to try to allow enough room for the external staircase.
Work proceeding on the brick (and block) gable wall, incorporating the door into the ‘Hay Loft’ room
