Week 10, Day 4

Week 10, Day 4:

  • More blockwork and steelwork, mostly on the southern elevation
  • Because of the long spans over the lift-and-slide door openings, the lintels for the outer cavity walls are Rectangular Hollow Section (RHS) steel rather than concrete as used for the smaller openings
  • There’s another steel joist over the open-plan room on the south side, to support the wall between the bedrooms on that side

Week 10, Day 2

Week 10, Day 2:

  • More blockwork, bringing the external cavity walls on the north side up to the level of the first floor structure in preparation for the installation of the floor joists
  • Installing the first of the steel beams over the Living Room
Week 10, Day 2

Week 10, Day 2

I now have a second camera operational, on the basis that: a) I bought another one when it looked like the first one was starting to go wrong (it’s been fine ever since), and b) there will soon be a large house blocking the view from the first camera! The second camera is on the corner of the static caravan nearest the first camera, where there was already a handy pole holding the UniFi Outdoor WiFi Access Point.

The second camera is suffering a bit from facing into the sun for a significant portion of the day, with the sun being so low at this time of year, but that should improve once there’s a house in the way. Here’s the view at the same time as the shot above.
