More groundworks in the Courtyard, this time with a focus on the ‘land drains’ nearer the house – including digging down to Courtyard level at the South-West corner.
Then also progress on the Brickwork and Blockwork for the External Staircase, for which the reconstituted stone steps are in the process of being wet-cast.
Further progress on the underground drainage in the Courtyard, this time with a focus on the ‘land drains’ which will address the tendency for the area to collect standing water (nicely evidenced in recent days).
These ‘land drains’ consist of a perforated pipe wrapped in landscape fabric (to prevent silt infiltration) installed in a trench filled with pea gravel.
Work on the masonry continued with some progress on the supporting brick- and block-work for the external staircase.
