Another very hot day, reaching 34 C by the end of the afternoon, so the build team started and finished an hour earlier than normal to give a bit more working time in the (relatively) cool morning.
More work on the roof structure, installing most of the ‘extensions’ to the roof trusses over the Garage Door arches.
Timber ‘extensions’ to carry the roof down over the bumped-out section of wall above the main garage (where the steel beams support the weight of the roof), neatly notched over the wall plate and the steel beam
Also more work on the gable walls at the north-east and north-west corners.
Gable wall at the north-east corner, finished apart from a few more courses on the height (once another ‘lift’ of scaffolding gets added) and two courses of headers to follow the line of the roof, bringing the bricks to the same level as the blocks
Another very hot day making for difficult conditions on-site. Nevertheless, the team continued to progress the walling and the roof structure.
Also a site visit from the electrical contractor to discuss a few points about the sizing of the supply cabling and to review the layout of the buildings.
It looks like a spider has built a web over the lens of the time-lapse camera which takes the daily overview photos – there’s a dark shadow at the top-middle, more evident early in the day. The other cameras have Infra-Red LEDs for night-time usage but those are turned off on this camera (because they’d never manage to illuminate the whole courtyard) in an attempt to discourage web-building. Perhaps a strong wind will blow that off; if not the lens will need cleaning.
