Outbuildings: Week 14, Day 4

Outbuildings: Week 14, Day 4

Some of the roof trusses have been moved into the Courtyard – mostly to get them out of the way of where they were initially unloaded, and to access the ones stacked behind them. The Workshop (across the back of the overview photo above) and the Utility Room (on the right) are ready for these trusses to be installed – but the progress today was again out of shot to the left.

Concrete block inner skin being brought up to the same level as the brickwork outside – together with the reinforced concrete pad stones (at the top of the piers) which will hold the steel beams to support the roof

The build team are on holiday or doing training tomorrow so work will continue on Monday.

Outbuildings: Week 14, Day 3

Another day where all the work was out of shot to the left of the overview photo.

Good progress on framing the floor joists between the ‘attic’ trusses installed yesterday – and also in forming 3 of the 4 shallow brick arches over the garage door openings. There are 8 or 9 courses of bricks and blocks to go on top of the arches – although the weight of the roof will be supported by steel beams sitting about half a metre behind the brickwork (supported by the blockwork piers visible through the door openings).
