A short work day today – some issue with the delivery of the ready-mixed mortar? The last delivery was last week and the team have run out – so they left site mid-morning.
The weather continues to be very dry, although there’s rain forecast for the upcoming (Bank Holiday) weekend. The timing of the overview photo, at 13:00 BST (so 12:00 UTC) is at ‘solar noon’ – which is confirmed by the shadows which show particularly well on today’s photo.
Little visible progress in the overview photo today (just a very clean and tidy courtyard area – a testament to the builders’ attention to detail) – because all of today’s activity was out of shot, on the north side of the Garages.
The garage doors will be roller shutters fixed to the inside face of the walls (rather than having a ‘door frame’ within the opening). To avoid the inner skin of blocks being visible in front of the doors, the bricks need to be carried around to the inside – and then bonded in with the blockwork.
