Week 2, Day 3:

  • Digging the first trench for the Ground Source Heat Pump pipes, 1.5m wide x 50m long – not visible in the overview shot so see the second photo below
  • Site visit from MFA Building Control, to inspect the foundations before the concrete is poured (booked for Monday 2015-10-19)
  • Clearing the weeds and marking the location of the second GSHP trench ready for digging tomorrow

Day 3:

  • Another showery day
  • Site meeting with the folks from Carbon Legacy who will be installing the Ground Source Heat Pump system, to confirm the arrangements for the trenches which will hold the ground collector loops
    • Those will be to the west of the house (out of shot to the left of the picture) and will run to within a couple of metres of the boundary hedge
  • Marking out the foundation trenches and starting to dig them out
