More ‘finishing off’ of the walls up to the level where extra scaffolding is required. The overview photo shows a Roof Truss (temporarily) installed at the North end of the Workshop – mostly to provide a guide as to the transition from Brick to Block on the wall next to it. Later in the day, a truss was installed at the West end of the Utility room (nearest the camera).

The ‘attic’ trusses for the ‘Hay Loft’ were deliberately installed last week – before any of the other roof trusses – so that the walls could then be built up around them. This saved hiring a crane to lift the trusses over the completed walls, relying on the tele-handler instead. These walls are now being built. The door opening into the gable end is starting to take shape, visible in the photo below. Another ‘lift’ of scaffolding will be required before too long.

The supports for the ‘rise and fall’ brackets for the guttering have been problematic to source but there was a delivery from the (newly-selected) guttering supplier today. Lack of these supports has been holding up progress on the rest of the corbeled brickwork around the building, since it’s best if they’re built-in as the walls go up.
