Week 65, Day 3

Week 65, Day 3:

  • More work on the front door canopy
  • Tidying up some loose ends on the electrics:
    • Routing the supplies to the mirror heaters through KNX relays so they can be controlled automatically
    • Installing the wiring for the M-Bus meters which can be read automatically – these consist of:
      • Heat meters on the central heating and hot water circuits
      • Electricity meter on the supply to the heat pump – this meter actually has a pulse output but it’s connected to M-Bus via an adaptor
      • Water meters (x3)
  • As can be seen from the van in the photo below, the team from Alvaston Glass were back on site measuring up for the first batch of shower enclosures

Progress with the “hit and miss” cedar cladding on the front door canopy

Week 58, Day 5

Week 58, Day 5:

  • More progress on the ground works, back-filling behind the retaining wall and in the planters and levelling out the area by the side entrance
    • The lower section of retaining wall will be planted with ground-cover plants, and so it needs filling with topsoil and not the MOT 1 stone which can be seen in the photo, which will have to be dug out and replaced
    • This wall also needs lowering by one course of blocks so it lines up correctly with the middle step
  • A little more work on the outdoor electrics, setting galvanized steel conduit boxes into the blockwork and wiring the SWA cable into those for the outside lights and sockets
    • Most of the cables will be covered by the stone cladding
