Outbuildings: Week 35, Day 6

Outbuildings: Week 35, Day 6

Generally the build team don’t work at weekends – although the heating installer does sometimes. However, Saturday morning proved to be the best time to apply the remaining skim-coat of plaster on the partition wall that separates the Plant Room from the Workshop.

Normally the timber partition wall would have been installed before the plasterboard ceiling – and then everything would have been skimmed at the same time. However, I specifically asked for the ceiling to be plasterboarded and skimmed first, so that the partition could be removed or relocated later without needing (as much) remedial work That was part of the original specification and hence part of the baseline price.

Another day of good progress, with two of the garage door roller shutters now fully operational and another one well on the way. That and the last one should be finished on Monday.

The team from Chellaston Renewables were back on site to fit the external heat pump unit on its wall bracket – not a simple task since it weighs over 60kg, and it’s quite a way off the ground.
