Another day of good progress, with two of the garage door roller shutters now fully operational and another one well on the way. That and the last one should be finished on Monday.
The team from Chellaston Renewables were back on site to fit the external heat pump unit on its wall bracket – not a simple task since it weighs over 60kg, and it’s quite a way off the ground.
External unit for Daikin Air-to-Air heat pump installed on East wall of Workshop
Another solid day of progress on the electrical installation, with the power sockets now live in most of the building and almost all of the internal lighting (and a couple of external doorway lights) now completed. The light switches are part of the Home Automation system, which won’t be fully operational until the data network is ready to enable the KNX devices to be programmed – and the data networking is waiting on the plastering of the wall next to the comms equipment rack – so the only way to operate the lights at the moment is by pressing buttons on the KNX relay units in the Plant Room and Garage.
The team from Attenborough Doors started the installation of the four Hormann Rollmatic 2 roller shutters. The first of those is very nearly complete and ready for commissioning. Hopefully that and at least one more will be completed tomorrow, with the others finished next week.
Other bits of progress were the sealing of the gaps between the brickwork and the stone steps of the external staircase as well as the expansion joints in the external brickwork – and the installation of the wall mounting bracket for the external heat pump unit.
The control unit for the rainwater harvesting system was also delivered, direct from Wisy in Germany, with the accompanying pump in a separate parcel expected imminently.
