Outbuildings: Week 33, Day 4

Outbuildings: Week 33, Day 4

More second-fixing of the alarm system, installing more sensors in the morning then moving on to the main control panel and zone expander units once those had been delivered, early afternoon.

There was wet and windy weather overnight and for the first part of the morning, which held up progress on the ground works – but has mostly filled the rainwater tank. The team are waiting for delivery of some additional components for the inlets and outlets for the rainwater attenuation pond, which had been promised for delivery yesterday or today but are now (allegedly) due next week. Instead of installing those they completed the tidy-up of the ground to the East side of the building.

Cleared ground to the East of the Workshop. The boundary (between the new building and the metal barn) will get a fence in due course.

Wildlife Pond Update

With some significant rain over recent days, the pond is filling up nicely. Probably only another 100 – 150mm to go before it can be considered ‘full’.

Update 2025-04-10

It’s been a very dry March and the pond is now almost empty, with just a small puddle at the far side. There’s some rain forecast in the next few days so it will be interesting to see if that’s enough to create some standing water again.
