Outbuildings: Week 28, Day 5

Outbuildings: Week 28, Day 5

Another day of good weather so the ridge tile installation has been completed and some more of the guttering installed. With the ridge tiles fitted, all of the scaffolding is now ready for removal – with the priority being the area around the Garage doors.

The scaffolders removed the central section of scaffolding from the Garage block, allowing access to the guttering it had been blocking. It seems they only brought a small lorry so not all of the removed scaffolding was transported off-site.

North elevation of the Garage block, with the central section of scaffolding removed to allow access to fit the guttering. The right hand decorative buttress is clearly visible in this photo.

While the scaffolding to the South of the Workshop was still in-situ, it was a good opportunity to core-drill the high-level 5″ holes for the intake and exhaust vents for the MVHR system.

A couple more lorry-loads of muck-away and the delivery of the “100mm” loft insulation that will be fitted between the ceiling joists over the Workshop and Utility Room, before the MVHR ducting is installed above that (but below the upper layers of insulation).

Outbuildings: Week 28, Day 4

Much better weather so a day of Outdoor work – mostly installing more ridge tiles on the roof (all of the Utility Room and about half of the Workshop) plus some finishing touches to the guttering now some missing components have been delivered.

The groundworks team started preparing to excavate the trench for the incoming electricity supply and loaded a few lorry-loads of muck-away (in preparation for more excavation for the rainwater harvesting tank and the stormwater attenuation pond).

Also the first site visit from the plumbing contractor, who will be starting work shortly.
