Outbuildings: Week 29, Day 1

Outbuildings: Week 29, Day 1

More good weather; the large puddle in the Courtyard has mostly dried up.

The trench required to install the ducts for the electrical supply cables (using the digger visible at the-top-right of the overview photo) was dug and back-filled.

The scaffolders were back, dismantling all the remaining scaffolding and removing most of it off-site.

The plumbers started their first-fix, making good progress running pipes around the inside of the building.

The main build team concentrated on installing more of the plasterboard ceiling and fitting the first layer of insulation above that.

Another day of good weather so the ridge tile installation has been completed and some more of the guttering installed. With the ridge tiles fitted, all of the scaffolding is now ready for removal – with the priority being the area around the Garage doors.

The scaffolders removed the central section of scaffolding from the Garage block, allowing access to the guttering it had been blocking. It seems they only brought a small lorry so not all of the removed scaffolding was transported off-site.

North elevation of the Garage block, with the central section of scaffolding removed to allow access to fit the guttering. The right hand decorative buttress is clearly visible in this photo.

While the scaffolding to the South of the Workshop was still in-situ, it was a good opportunity to core-drill the high-level 5″ holes for the intake and exhaust vents for the MVHR system.

A couple more lorry-loads of muck-away and the delivery of the “100mm” loft insulation that will be fitted between the ceiling joists over the Workshop and Utility Room, before the MVHR ducting is installed above that (but below the upper layers of insulation).
