Week 40, Day 2

Week 40, Day 2:

  • Difficult working conditions outside on the hottest day of the year – more than 30 degrees Celsius and very strong sunshine
  • Finishing off the cedar cladding around the clerestory windows – that area is now complete
  • Applying protective oil to the cedar cladding, where that had not previously been done
  • More progress on the zinc roofing, including half of the rather fiddly section below the concealed gutter on the south roof (visible on the photo below)
  • More electrical second fix, installing some of the lighting and some of the (many!) circuits in the Plant Room

Week 40, Day 1

Week 40, Day 1:

  • Installing the painted aluminium channels over the wooden posts between the clerestory windows and also the aluminium window cills, now the zinc roofing has been completed at the top of the south roof
  • More work on the zinc roofing – the fiddly bits around the edges take much longer than the large flat areas
  • More plastering, mainly in the open plan kitchen – getting that ready for the kitchen units (due next week)
  • Making up some corner caps out of cedar boards to finish off the external corners on the cedar-clad areas
